💀 About this level

This DOOM II level was created as a submission for LD Jam 12 " MACHINES and THE CITY", hosted by Steve Lee.

The level focuses on moment-to-moment flow, establishing a gameplay motif that rewards the player for checking their corners. I utilized contrast and lighting to intuitively communicate the pace of each section to the player.

Beyond the combat, look out for a hidden horror-themed secret area and a frantic final showdown that allows you to Rip N' Tear to your heart’s content!

Install instructions

  1. To run this map, you will need a modern Doom "source port" (such as UZDoomDSDA-Doom, or Woof!) and a legal copy of the original DOOM2.WAD (the "IWAD"). 
  2. Simply locate your source port's folder and drag and drop the ShortAndSweep.wad  file directly onto the executable (e.g.,  uzdoom.exe)
  3. The game will launch automatically with the custom level loaded. 
  4. If prompted to choose a game, select Doom II: Hell on Earth. This map replaces MAP01, so just start a New Game on your preferred difficulty to begin!
